JOSE MOURINHO has once again kept his highly-paid stars on their toes - by making them train in a hotel car park.

The Special One sprung the surprise ahead of tonight's showdown with Liverpool at Anfield, with the whole team made to leave their luxury digs and go for stretches outside.

This isn't the first time Mourinho has made his stars train in the public eye, after the squad were spotted last month warming up at an M1 services before their EFL Trophy match with Northampton.

That seemed to do the trick against the League One side, as Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Marcus Rasford scored on the way to a 3-1 triumph.

And now Mourinho looks to be attempting the same trick, with his pampered team sent out for a series of light exercises ahead of the big game.

Wayne Rooney - who is again set to start on the bench - looked in good spirits as the players laughed and joked amongst themselves, with some listening to music through headphones as they jogged on the spot.

Since their late show at Hull at the back end of August, United have only won once and will hope to return to winning ways after being held by Stoke before the international break.

Phil Jones is the only man definitely out of contention with injury but Henrikh Mkhitaryan could make a return from a thigh strain.

Mourinho has kept his cards close to his chest on who will make up his starting XI ahead of what could prove to be an exciting night under the lights at Anfield.

Liverpool have started the season in terrific form and have SIXTEEN goals in their last five games in all competitions.
