GARY NEVILLE admits he's 'scared' of Liverpool after their blistering start to the season.

Jurgen Klopp's men can go joint-top of the table with a win over Manchester United this evening, having already clocked up impressive wins against Chelsea and Arsenal.

And Sky Sports pundit Neville reckons Liverpool have the edge over his former club at Anfield, conceding he didn't think they'd be title contenders at the start of the season.

Neville said: "They scare me a little bit, I never thought they'd be contenders.

"But winning at Arsenal and Chelsea, and if they win tonight they'll have so much confidence. They're a far bigger threat now than at the start of the season. and United have to dent that tonight."

Former teammate and fellow pundit Ryan Giggs reckons Mourinho is going in at a disadvantage as he still doesn't know what his best team is yet.

Giggs added: "With Jose, you don't know what you're going to get.

"Over the years he had those 14-15 players he's worked with and a nucleus of seven to eight in every game.

"There's been big changes at United, it's a mix of players, Jose still doesn't know his strongest team."
