Ronaldo wants Philippe Coutinho to leave Liverpool and join Real Madrid – despite striker being happy on Merseyside

But he reckons Real now have to splash out on Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho to strengthen their ranks.

The World Cup-winning scoring machine told the 'El Transistor' radio show: "I would like to see Coutinho at Real Madrid, the Liverpool player."

Playmaker Coutinho has fitted right into Jurgen Klopp's exciting Gengenpress attack at Anfield, with the Reds playing exciting football and scoring 26 goals in 10 games in all competitions this season.

Coutinho has bagged four of those goals for the Reds - and has provided plenty of assists as well as freeing up space for his team-mates.

But the 24-year-old signed a contract till 2020 recently on Merseyside and has indicated he has no desire to leave before then.

He said: "Liverpool feels like my home. I feel happy, settled and comfortable here with the city and the people.

"It's an amazing city. I enjoy going to the cinema with my wife and to restaurants in town.

"The supporters are very nice. Hearing people sing my name, it inspires me. The fans here make me feel amazing."
