But bagging wife Lainya is perhaps the Newcastle legend's greatest achievement to date.
The ex-England star and Match of the Day pundit has been relaxing in sunny Barbados this week on holiday.

Alan, 46, and Lainya have jetted off to the Caribbean with daughters Chloe, 25, and Hollie, 21.
While Alan - in tip-top shape - showed he could still do a job for the Three Lions, the rest of the Shearer clan looked holiday ready in their skimpy two-pieces.

The entire family enjoyed a dip in the ocean to cool off from the 31 degrees heat.
Alan and Lainya both managed to enjoy some time alone in the water, while Chloe and Hollie both turned heads as they walked back onto the beach.
Since calling time on his 18-year career, Alan has teamed up with MOTD host Gary Lineker, as well as other pundits including Danny Murphy, Ruud Gullit and Ian Wright.
He was recently honoured with a statue outside of St James' Park for his outstanding service to the Toon.
After the unveiling, he tweeted: "Honoured to have my statue unveiled today in Newcastle. Thanks to everyone for their support during my career.”
