CHELSEA are set to reward Nathaniel Chalobah with a new contract.

The midfielder, 21, will have just one year left on his current deal next summer and the Blues are keen to tie him down at the club.

Antonio Conte has put faith in the England Under-21 star this season and has been repaid with a number of promising performances, including last weekend against Leicester where he provided a classy assist for Victor Moses.

After spending the last four seasons on loan at six different clubs - including Napoli and Watford - Chalobah has proven he is willing to test himself outside of Stamford Bridge.

Chalobah's inclusion in Conte's side has partly come at the expense of Cesc Fabregas.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona star, 29, has been linked with a switch to Premier League rivals Manchester City to link up with fellow Spaniard Pep Guardiola.
