Insigne is reportedly demanding a long-term deal with weekly wages of £100,000 after seeing the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly receive improved terms.

But Napoli are unwilling to meet his demands, and Insigne left the pitch crying after being mocked  by his own fans for a penalty miss against Besiktas in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The claims Insigne is now ready to quit Naples in the next transfer window, and is eyeing a Premier League switch.

Liverpool are keen, and the Italian’s agent is ready to make contact with Anfield chiefs this week to explore a deal.

However, Napoli are not ready to let their man leave on the cheap.

Owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is apparently demanding nothing less than an astronomical £44million, which Liverpool are less than keen to meet.

Insigne is also believed to be wanted by Tottenham, who are looking for more firepower following a poor showing from summer signing Vincent Janssen.
