Team News

Jurgen Klopp has said that some of his Liverpool players are nursing knocks and didn't train on Sunday.

The likes of Marko Grujic, Daniel Sturridge and Ragnar Klavan are expected to come into contention to start while Klopp has confirmed Simon Mignolet starts in goal.

Spurs will be without defender Toby Alderweireld (knee) while Harry Kane is not yet expected to be fit to return from his ankle injury.

Moussa Sissoko will not feature after Spurs accepted his violent conduct charge for elbowing Harry Arter in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Bournemouth.

What they said

Liverpool boss Klopp: "It's what I call a luxury problem (with the keepers). Simon wasn't happy with the situation but you can't see that in training.

"In this moment we have a No. 1 and that's Loris Karius. That's the situation. I cannot leave them in doubt.

"After the last international break I spoke to both of them and we made this decision. That's the ranking. Loris No. 1, Simon No. 2."

Spurs boss Pochettino said: "Our defensive record is very good but with the way we defend and don’t concede chances or goals, it’s important to score and to win. I’m disappointed because we created chances and had possibilities to score.

“I feel pleased with another big effort and now we keep going because we have another big game on Tuesday.”
