BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER'S Manchester United return is a "great boost" to the club, according to Luke Shaw.
The veteran German midfielder came out of exile today as he trained with the first team after months out in the cold.
Jose Mourinho was responsible for freezing out Schweinsteiger - who arrived under Louis van Gaal - and Shaw believes his shock U-turn can help change United's fortunes.

He said: "It's great to see him back. "We found out the news a couple of days ago and it's so great to have him back.
"He's a big influence in the dressing room and obviously on the pitch, especially for the young players like myself."
"It's a great boost for us, the experience and the quality that he brings.
"The quality he possesses is a boost for our team and I'm so glad to have him back."
Schweinsteiger, 32, cannot play in Thursday's trip to Fenerbahce as he is not registered in Mourinho's Europa League squad.
But he could feature on Sunday as United travel to face Swansea looking to make up ground on the Premier League leaders.
Club legend Bryan Robson claimed the former Germany and Bayern Munich star was just the man United need right now.

He said: "Bastian's a great lad, speaks perfect English, has got great quality and he's got vast experience.
"For me he could definitely help the group, on the confidence side and just the know-how on how to play the game in that central role.
"I still think he could be valuable to the squad."
