Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City in transfer battle for Rangers 15-year-old wonderkid Billy Gilmour
Premier League giants have sent scouts to watch the 15-year-old midfielder youngster in Scotland’s Victory Shield campaign
MANCHESTER UNITED, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City are battling it out for Scottish wonderkid Billy Gilmour.
The Premier League giants have all sent scouts to watch the Rangers youngster in Scotland’s 2016 Victory Shield campaign.
The Under-16 tournament is currently taking place in Edinburgh with Scotland set to host Wales in their second fixture on Tuesday afternoon.
Gilmour, 15, was man-of-the-match in the hosts’ 2-0 win over Northern Ireland on Sunday and is rated as one of the brightest prospects produced north of the border in the last two decade.
Chelsea and City’s academies are regarded as two of the best in England and the pair have contested the last two FA Youth Cup finals.
But United are investing heavily in their own youth set-up under Head of Academy Nicky Butt – and are keen to make a statement by poaching Gilmour from under their rivals’ noses.
But any move will not come cheap as it is believed Gers want as much as £3million for the young midfielder.
And suitors will have to the starlet a move is right for his career as family members are understood to be keen for him to stay and play in the Ibrox first team.
