MANCHESTER CITY'S Etihad Stadium had been evacuated ahead of the club's Champions League clash against Barcelona - because of BURNT CHIPS.
The reason given for the evacuation was that a heat sensor in one of the kitchens sounded an alarm.
Fans took to social media to report that there were "alarms going off" as hundreds stood out in the cold ahead of the crunch clash.
They also reported being told it was "an emergency".

But the real reason was reportedly burnt chips.
It didn't matter in the end as they McCained Barcelona 3-1 thanks to goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin de Bruyne.
Barcelona have won all three of their Champions League games so far, the latest was a 4-0 thrashing of Manchester City, that saw Messi bang a hat-trick.
Pep Guardiola's City side ended a run of six games without a win on Saturday, when they hammered West Brom 4-0 in the Premier League.
A club spokesperson told SunSport: ";The evacuation status is over and the stadium is now safe and clear."
And the club's social media manager tweeted to say that everybody had returned "safely" into the stadium, and credited the security staff.
