And the Wales captain is a big fan of Koeman’s straight-talking style as he revealed he has already highlighted several areas of the stopper’s game to improve on.

Williams told EvertonTV: “He concentrates on the whole team, he doesn’t just specify defence.

“But playing in the same position he did, I can go to him with any question or query and he will know the answer or an answer, which is always nice as a player to have available to you.”

Williams, aged 32, does not believe that he could have a much better tutor than the former Holland and Barcelona star to learn from.

He added: “Someone like him, with so much experience, you feel secure with the knowledge that he’s giving you and you listen.

“You don’t question it, you just go out and do exactly what he’s asked you to do.”

Koeman takes Williams and his Everton team-mates to Chelsea on Saturday for the tea time Premier League clash.
