INTER MILAN has appointed Stefano Pioli as a replacement for Frank De Boer.

The Dutchman was sacked by the club’s owners after losing seven of his first 14 games in charge — and appearing to lose the respect of the dressing room.

Pioli was reportedly the club’s second-choice after former Villarreal boss, Marcelino.

But the two parties disagreed over a number of factors — including wages and power over transfers.

Pioli becomes the club’s ninth manager since Jose Mourinho left after winning the Treble in 2010.

The 51-year-old Italian has managed ten clubs — all of which were in his homeland — and was most recently in charge of Lazio.

He has remarkably been sacked in five of his last eight jobs.

And his ten different stints have come in just 13 years.

His time at Lazio came to an end after a 4-1 defeat to arch-rivals Roma on April 3, 2016.

Pioli is very much considered a short-term appointment as Inter continue to wait for No.1 target, Diego Simeone.

The current Atletico Madrid boss is seen as one of the best around, and played for the Nerazzurri from 1997 to 1999.

Simeone has previously stated his desire to one day manage Inter, and recently reduced his contract at the Calderon by two years.
