ARSENAL are scouting 18-year-old Olympiakos defender Panagiotis Retsos.
Retsos can play in any position across the defence and was watched by the Gunners in Greece Under-19s' 2-0 win in Wales.
He has broken into Olympiakos' first team this season where he is normally used at left-back because of an injury to Alberto de la Bella.
During the match in Wrexham, Retsos captained the Greeks for the full 90 minutes.
Nacho Monreal is Arsenal's first choice left back, but his lack of pace has been a concern this season and at the age of 30, Arsene Wenger may not consider him a long-term option.
As things stand, Kieran Gibbs would have no competition for the left-back slot when Monreal does move on.
Retsos is contracted to Olympiakos until 2023 and is not the only youngster Arsenal have been linked with.
Swedish midfielder Peter Gwargis has been invited to train with the Gunners.
The 16-year-old is on the books of local side Husqvarna FF and is dubbed the next Mesut Ozil.
But his agent says he is currently visiting Feyenoord to discuss a potential move, with PSV also interested.
