Monchengladbach have played 18 games so far this season with the 20-year-old only featuring in nine of these matches.

But an encouraging statistic is that the Bundesliga side have only three times with him in the side, with those defeats coming against Barcelona, Manchester City and Shalke.

Rumours have hinted talks have stalled between Dahoud and Monchengladbach having had his head turned by the interest of Klopp.

Dahoud is not the only young German to be linked with a move to Anfield, with Schalke youngster Max Meyer also being linked with a transfer to the red half of Merseyside.
