JAMIE VARDY and Jack Wilshere share a laugh in England training as captain Wayne Rooney is forced to watch from the sidelines.

The Three Lions skipper and Ryan Bertrand are out of today's session with "minor issues", the FA confirmed.

It means both are major doubts for the tomorrow's friendly against Spain at Wembley.

Intermis boss Gareth Southgate cast a keen eye over his players after Friday's 3-0 World Cup qualifier win over Scotland.

Vardy was a 75th-minute sub for goalscorer Daniel Sturridge that night but could, along with Wilshere, push for a starting spot if Rooney is ruled out.
