Schweinsteiger has been told by Man United boss Jose Mourinho that he has no future at the club, and is expected to be shipped out in January.

The 32-year-old has recently attracted the attention of a number of sides in the MLS in America.

The German ace has not played a minute of football this season under new United boss Jose Mourinho.

But he has been training on his own, more recently re-joining the first-team squad to do sessions with the other star players.

Chicago Fire are the most likely suitors for the Bayern Munich legend.

Meanwhile Schweinsteiger also declared himself ready for action should United need to call upon him this season.

He said: “I’m trying to keep myself fit for the situation in which I am needed.

“Hopefully I will be given a chance. I look forward to training every day and being able to train with the team.

"I don't know if I will get a chance, but I hope so. I still feel fit at 32 and certainly want to play more years at the top level and of course I want to win things."
