ARSENE WENGER hailed his side's new-found grit after Olivier Giroud rescued a point against Manchester United

The Arsenal boss was delighted to leave Old Trafford with a point, with Juan Mata slotting the hosts into a deserved second-half lead.

Wenger, 67, said: "The result in the end is positive for us because we were 1-0 down with two minutes to go.

"Last year we would have maybe lost this game and today we didn't so we have improved on that front. Hopefully now we can kick on with some wins."

Gunners forward Theo Walcott echoed his boss' sentiments, adding: "I would say we’d probably want more from the first-half performance especially.

"We snatched it at the end. In years gone by we might have probably lost this game."
