Liverpool legend and former England captain Gerrard had been approached by the League One side to become their new manager.

MK sacked long-serving boss Karl Robinson and held talks with Stevie G and his advisors earlier this month about replacing his fellow Scouser.

Gerrard, who was a guest on BT Sport on Wednesday night, revealed: “I spoke to them and had a chat with the chairman. It’s a very exciting job for someone else.

Gerrard has also been linked with Celtic and Newcastle in recent weeks as well as a return to Anfield in a coaching capacity with the club’s academy.

However, the Kop icon insists he is happy to take his time over his next move.

“I’m just taking a bit of time to consider what’s next. It’s exciting times moving forward.”
