MANCHESTER UNITED duo Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have come in for some criticism this season at Old Trafford.

Following the drawn-out transfer saga surrounding French midfielder Pogba over the summer - with Jose Mourinho's United ultimately sealing a £109million deal - it's no wonder fans expected big things.

Ibrahimovic meanwhile got off to a spectacular start to life in the Premier League, netting four times in his opening four games - before going on a two-month goal drought.

While Pogba's performances since swapping Juventus for Man United have slowly improved and Ibrahimovic has been back in the goals of late, they have taken a lot of criticism from fans - and rival club supporters, alike.

The Old Trafford pair may not have found the net as often as they would like this term, but it's not for a lack of trying, according to the stats.

So far through the 2016-17 season, Pogba and Ibrahimovic have created 16 chances for each other in 990 minutes on the pitch together.

No Premier League twosome have been more in sync this season, with Liverpool's on-fire Brazilian partnership of Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino level - also on 16 chances created.

Crystal Palace duo Christian Benteke and Jason Puncheon sit third on 15, while Arsenal stars Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil sit level with Reds pair Coutinho and Sadio Mane on 14.

Everton forwards Romelu Lukaku and Yannick Bolasie - along with West Ham stars Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio - have created 13 chances for each other.

Top of the table Chelsea have been indebted to the strong play of Diego Costa and Eden Hazard - finally rediscovering their 2014-15 form - having set up 12 opportunities for each other.

Meanwhile, a further seven couples have all found each other 11 times for a gilt-edged chance.

Gunners ace Sanchez features again - this time alongside the resurgent Theo Walcott - while Kevin Mirallas and Ross Barkley also crack the top 15.

Sergio Aguero gets his name on the list twice - once with Kevin De Bruyne and another with David Silva - for Manchester City, while Ibrahimovic and Juan Mata have also been deadly for United.

Swansea stars Fernando Llorente and Gylfi Sigurdsson and a combination of Payet-Manuel Lanzini round off the top 15 pairings in the Premier League.
