Manchester United star Paul Pogba reveals chasing girls took a backseat on his trip to becoming the most expensive player ever

PAUL POGBA has revealed chasing girls took a backseat when he was younger in order for him to fulfil his dream of making it as a footballer.

The Manchester United star is the most expensive player in the history of the sport at £89million.

Speaking of what he had to sacrifice in order to make it to the top, Pogba said: "I wasn't really interested in girls. Only football. I was just enjoying football all the time.

"There was a five-a-side next to the flat and I used to play there all the time. It was all about football. I wanted to be a professional. That was my goal. I didn't want to be anything other than a footballer."

Pogba's career has seen him move from Old Trafford to Juventus and back.

Since returning to Manchester, he has been linked with stunning model Chantel Jeffries - who is also Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend.

But one person the Frenchman admitted he was happy to see when he came back was Jesse Lingard.
