Real Madrid are also monitoring Alli's situation, having watched him on a number of occasions at the back end of last season.

The former MK Dons man doubled his wages to nearly £55,000 a week in September by penning his second deal of 2016.

The six-year deal takes him through to 2022, with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino moving to secure a number of the club's young talents - including Harry Kane last week.

But Alli could triple his money at PSG, whose Qatari cash would not be matched within Spurs chairman Daniel Levy's current wage structure.

At the time of penning the deal, Alli said: "I can't think of anywhere better than Tottenham with the fans, the manager and the young team.

"It's a great place to be.

"But I don't feel young, I feel like I'm ready to retire!

"No, it's been good. I'm happy to be here and playing at Tottenham."
