ARSENE WENGER has revealed Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey are close to making a first team return from injury.
Ramsey's season has been hampered by a series of injuries but he could be back in action when the Gunners face West Brom on Boxing Day.
And England star Welbeck has not even featured at all during the campaign because of a knee injury - but the forward has now resumed training.

Next week he will join in with the first team squad for the first time, and Wenger is targeting a return to action in mid January.
Wenger said: "The closest of the injured players to being back is Aaron Ramsey. Next week he should be back, he is training.
"Danny is one week away from normal training and joining back with the squad.
"Of course he have to take a bit more time with him to build up his fitness."
The Gunners face Manchester City on Sunday desperate to get their Premier League title bid back on track after the 2-1 defeat at Everton on Tuesday.
But much of the build-up has been centred on the contract situations of star players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who has been offered a new deal worth around £180,000-a-week.
Wenger refused to even discuss the pair, but he did admit he wants Kieran Gibbs to sign a new deal with the Gunners.
He added: "When we have some news I will inform you, again with Kieran Gibbs.
"We cannot make a case of every contract situation.
"Personally I believe that Gibbs should stay here."
