Diego Costa flies off to Brazil after Chelsea boss Antonio Conte allows him to take a short holiday… and will rejoin his team-mates on Christmas Day

DIEGO COSTA has taken advantage of being suspended for Chelsea's next game - by jetting off to Brazil.

Blues boss Antonio Conte has allowed his table-topping players some extra time off ahead of the game against Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

But Costa, along with N'Golo Kante, will miss the game at home to the Cherries, and have been allowed to 'holiday' until Christmas Day, when they will join up with the rest of the squad.

The rest of the players will return to the club's training ground on Wednesday, safe in the knowledge that they are sitting pretty at the summit of the Premier League for Christmas Day.

So Costa, who has 13 goals to his name this season, has flown to Brazil to catch up with his brother Jair and friends.

He shared a photo of his relax-time on his Instagram page.

The Spanish striker scored the only goal of the game as title-favourites Chelsea triumphed 1-0 away at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

At times it was a backs-to-the-wall performance from Conte's outfit, as Palace pushed desperately for the equaliser.

But they came through to stay seven points clear of second-placed Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel Chalobah has gone slightly closer to home with a trip to Disneyland Paris.
