Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi tweets video putting in the hours ahead of the gym ahead of New Year return from hamstring injury
"Nothing worth having comes easy," wrote the German on Twitter as he showed off his leg workout
ARSENAL fans have been given a Christmas treat by German defender Shkodran Mustafi.
The £35m signing has tweeted a video of himself recovering at the gym from a hamstring injury picked up against Stoke.
He wrote: "BACK ON TOP, Nothing worth having comes easy. So let's put in some extra hours at the gym #comebackstronger."
Mustafi is expected to make a much-needed return for the Gunners in January.
Few, if any, Premier League players have been as important to their sides this season as the former Valencia man to Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger's side are unbeaten when Mustafi has played, having won nine of 12 league games.
But without him they've lost three in five Premier League games, including defeats to Man City and Everton in their last two, and been knocked out of the EFL Cup by Southampton.
Wenger commented on Mustafi's injury just over a week ago, saying: "It's a bad one, he wasn't carrying anything before the game [against Stoke]. I checked three times."
And he added that the defender has no chance of making the Boxing Day match against West Brom, and should take the chance to enjoy Christmas.
The Frenchman said: "The minimum when you get one like that is 21 days, that means he will have a nice Christmas."
Mustafi will be joined in missing the Christmas fixture programme by stars serving suspensions such as Diego Costa, N'Golo Kante and Sergio Aguero.
Costa has already flown back to Brazil after receiving a fifth booking which will see him ruled out of Chelsea's home game against Bournemouth.
