WAYNE ROONEY appeared to be be gearing up for Christmas as he arrived at Manchester United training.

And that should again be the case when former boss David Moyes - who also took charge of Rooney at Everton - heads back to Old Trafford.

Rooney received another signal that his Old Trafford career is drawing to a close when Red Devils officials instructed a leading agent to open talks over a deal for Atletico Madrid No10 Antoine Griezmann.

The 31-year-old is just a goal shy of Sir Bobby Charlton's record of 249 for United.
