'Fancy a smoke?'

Millwall fan uses a smokebomb as a cigarette during 3-1 derby win over Charlton at The Den

Lions fan reacts in bizarre fashion after object was thrown from the away end

MILLWALL beat Charlton 3-1 in last night’s London derby, but one photo from the stands was more entertaining than anything seen on the pitch.

In one of the most bizarre sites ever seen at a football stadium, a home fan picked up a smokebomb, which was believed to have been thrown from the away end.

But not even a tobacco company would recommend what he did next.

Supporters at The Den looked astonished as the fan, gesturing at the Charlton support, started smoking the object.

The Lions ran out 3-1 winners in the derby with an opening goal from Aiden O’Brien and a double from Steve Morison.

Charlton replied with a goal from Nicky Ajose but saw rivals Millwall move above them to 11th.

New manager Karl Robinson has yet to taste victory since taking over at The Valley just over three weeks ago.

Meanwhile Millwall face a fight to prevent their stadium car park and community centre from being purchased by property developers.

Lewisham Council had originally voted to enforce Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO) for the plot, where the Lions hold a long-term lease.

But the Council’s scrutiny panel referred the CPO back to Lewisham’s Mayor and Cabinet because of doubts about the viability and public interest of the new project from mysterious offshore developers Renewal.
