VICTOR LINDELOF has been seen signing a Man United shirt ahead of a £42m switch to Old Trafford.
The defender played what is likely to be his last match for Benfica on Wednesday night, producing a commanding performance in a 2-0 win over Rio Ave.
He has now returned to Sweden for Christmas and signed a shirt for a young fan in his home town of Vasteras.
United are in need of defensive cover with £30m summer signing Eric Bailly on the way to the African Cup of Nations in Gabon with the Ivory Coast.
Lindelof has made 11 appearances for Sweden and fellow countryman Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes the 22-year-old can have a positive impact at Old Trafford straight away.
He said: “I think Victor is doing great things, he is playing good for Benfica, he gets a lot of responsibility for the national team now, he is growing.
“Is he good enough for United? I think he’s good enough for the big clubs out there. It’s up to him what he wants. Whatever he chooses will be good for him.
“I know he is hot on the market so let him make the right choice, what fits him good.”
Lindelof's transfer has resulted in a legal dispute between Benfica and his hometown club Vasteras.
The Swedish third tier side where he started his career agreed £250,000 in appearance-based add-ons with the Portuguese giants, who claim the payments no longer apply since he signed a new contract in Lisbon last year.
