MANCHESTER UNITED seemed to have made an early move to sort out their defensive problems with a deal that looked almost done for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
However there is a disagreement with Lindelof's former club Swedish side Vasteras over one of the clauses that was agreed with Benfica when he joined the Portuguese giants.
Vasteras are demanding £212,000 from Benfica before he can move to Man United, the amount is due the amount of Champions League appearances Lindelof has made since his move.
Lindelof joined Benfica's youth side in 2012 from Vasteras and has made a huge breakthrough in Portugal with many of Europe's big clubs interested in the 22 year old.
Lindelof was named in UEFA's breakthrough Champions League team of 2016 and its in that competition where he has gained many admirers with his excellent performances.

Benfica finished second in Group B behind in form Italian side Napoli, Lindelof was a key player for them progressing through to the last 16.
Borussia Dortmund now lie in wait for Benfica in the next round and if they can not reach an agreement with Vasteras they will likely have a better chance of shocking the Germans if Lindelof does not move next month.
However Man United are confident they can still get their man but are not keen on paying £212,000 on a clause that has nothing to do with them.
But if it means getting the player through the Old Trafford door by deadline day then United are willing to negotiate for the transfer to still happen.
