Neville was handed his first managerial job at the troubled Spanish side but lasted less than four months at the Mestalla Stadium.

Prandelli, 59, who has managed teams such as Italy,  Roma and Parma, lasted just 10 matches with the club before handing in his resignation according to Cadena SER.

He leaves Valencia lying 17th place in La Liga, level on points with Sporting who are in the drop zone.

The six-time La Liga winners have picked up just 12 points from their opening 15 matches and face the unimaginable threat of relegation to the second tier.

It is believed that Prandelli was fed up with owner Peter Lim who is causing a massive rift amongst the supporters.
