BRIGHTON made a heartwarming gesture after their game against Cardiff was called off by delivering food to the homeless.
Referee Chris Kavanagh made two inspections of conditions at the AMEX Stadium before deciding the game couldn’t go ahead around 6pm.
Heavy fog had enveloped the south coast, meaning the Seagulls' chances of extending their lead at the top was cut short.

For the thousands of supporters expected to attend the Championship clash, food had been cooked and prepared around the ground.

But rather than let this go to waste, club officials ensured it was delivered to a homeless hostel in the city centre.
But there was not so much joy for the Cardiff fans who will undoubtedly be frustrated at having to make such a long journey on a Friday night only to discover less than two hours before kick-off that the game was off.
It took some Bluebird fans almost seven hours to complete the round-trip to the Championship high-flyers.

The clash will now be rescheduled for a later date before each club makes a decision on tickets purchased for the postponed game.
Brighton were hoping to extend their lead at the top of the Championship whereas Cardiff are struggling towards the foot of the table, just four points above relegation.
