FORMER Pescara manager Giovanni Galeone thinks Massimiliano Allegri should quit Juventus and join Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger's current deal at Arsenal is due to expire in six months and the Gunners boss is yet to sign an extension leaving many wonder if he actually will.

On signing the three year deal that will expire this June, Wenger said he was 'confident' that Arsenal could win the Premier League again in that period.

They would now have to overhaul Chelsea's nine point lead at the the top of the table for that to happen, Wenger is likely to use the supporters as a guide to see is he should stay or not.

Some supporters at the Emirates have turned hostile towards the Frenchman for not delivering a title since 2004 and if they don't come close this season then they are likely to call for a change.

Allegri seems like a good option, he has guided Juventus to two Serie A titles with relative ease as well as taking the Italian giants to a Champions League final in 2015, where they lost to Barcelona 3-1.

Galeone said: ''The merry cycle at Juventus is over, I hope his future is in the Premier League after winning another league title (with Juventus).''

''I think his cycle in Turin is finished. Arsenal could be the right challenge for him, for his own good, succeeding Wenger in a team that has not won for a long time.

Tottenham or Liverpool would be a good job for him, England would be a very attractive target for Allegri's career or maybe the (Itailian) national job.''

If Allegri were to join Arsenal he would be the fourth Italian manager in the Premier League alongside Antonio Conte of Chelsea, Walter Mazzarri of Watford and Claudio Ranieri of Leicester City.

The Gunners will be an attractive prospect for any top European coach, the brand of football that has been implemented by Wenger over the last 20 years has been as close to the Barcelona style as you can get.

On their day they can play as good as any of the top teams in Europe but under a young modern coach they could be taken even further.

Its a club that has yet to taste Champions League glory and the chance to win the clubs first European crown would be a very attractive option.

Arsenal are now in a position to compete financially with the big boys and of course already have talents such as Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

If Wenger were to win the Premier League this season there is a strong possibility that he may do what Sir Alex Ferguson did with Manchester United in 2013 and go out on a high.

There is still the second half of the season to go with may more surprises along the way, but if one of them is to be Wenger quitting the club after a 20 year stay then Allegri seems to be the perfect man to take the club forward.
