Bradley Lowery wins Goal of the Month award after terminally ill Sunderland fan scores against Chelsea
Match of the Day made a great gesture as the five-year-old raised the roof at the Stadium of Light after scoring against the Blues
BRADLEY LOWERY'S has received Match of the Day's Goal of the Month award after living his dream when scoring for Sunderland against Chelsea.
The five-year-old, who is currently battling cancer, scored a penalty against Blues keeper Asmir Begovic which led to thousands of fans cheering on the young Black Cats fan.
This heartwarming gesture sees the fanatic Sunderland fan win the award jointly with Henrikh Mkhitaryan after his stunning scorpion kick goal for Manchester United.
The footballing world has come together to support Bradley and his family, who was devastatingly told he had cancer in 2013.
Last year more than £700,000 was raised for treatment in America, which included a £200,000 donation from Everton, but his family has since been told his cancer had grown and treatment would only give him more time.

Bradley's mum, Gemma, has said how happy her son was after he woke up to the news that he had won the award.
Speaking to the , she said: "We have woke up this morning to the news that Bradley’s goal got joint goal of the month.
"We can’t actually believe this and would like to thank every single one of you for your support.
“This is a very special moment for us and something we can treasure forever."
She also took to Twitter at 11:30am the day after to show her appreciation to both Match of the Day and Sunderland for making it possible.
This is another terrific gesture towards the youngster who was given the opportunity to meet Sunderland and Chelsea players as well as lead his team out at the Stadium of Light.
Bradley also received over 200,000 Christmas cards as people around the world were touched by his heartbreaking story - which also saw Troy Deeney hand a festive card to Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe for Bradley.
