BARCELONA will make a decision on signing Darijo Srna later this week – but the defender could pull the plug himself.
Luis Enrique is keen to bring a new right-back to the Nou Camp this month after failing to replace Dani Alves when he quit for Juventus last summer.
Midfielder Sergi Roberto has been moulded into an unconvincing convert while Aleix Vidal is yet to prove he has the skills required to play at the highest level.
And as revealed exclusively by SunSport in November, Srna has emerged as a top short-term prospect after entering the final six months of his Shakhtar Donetsk contract.
However, claims Barcelona chiefs are yet to give the full go-ahead for a move despite making a bid and offering the 34-year-old a contract.
The deal could balance on finding a buyer for ex-Sevilla man Vidal, but the report adds Srna himself is yet to fully commit either.
The former Croatia captain – who retired after Euro 2016 with 134 caps – is yet to play in one of Europe’s major leagues.

A move to Barcelona would also hand Srna a chance of winning the Champions League before calling it a day, but his wages could prove to be a sticking point.
He currently earns around £65,000-a-week in Ukraine and is apparently struggling to accept Barca’s significantly lower offer, which could be enough of an issue to scupper the move altogether.
