Liverpool would rater the player left on a permanent basis but that us proving difficult. They will look to loan him instead so that they can cover his £75,000-a-week wages.

He has been the subject of interest from plenty of clubs including Lille-who wanted to take the player back home on loan- with a view to a permanent deal in the summer.

Both Milan clubs have also been enquiring as to Sakho's availability and would like to take him in January.

Once a main stay of Liverpool's defence Sakho was the subject of a public falling out with Liverpool's boss even taking to social media to show he wanted to stay.

The ex-Paris St Germain defender has since been left to rot in the reserves and has succumbed to the idea of leaving Liverpool.
