Aston Villa preparing £3m bid for Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury with Derby still eyeing deal
One of the Championship's most in-demand players could be on his way to Aston Villa
ASTON VILLA are set to launch a £3m bid for Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury as the midfielder becomes one of the most sought after players in the Championship.
According to BBC Radio Nottingham, Forest rejected an initial £2.5million offer from Derby for the 26-year old who is out of contract in the summer.
But the former Arsenal player could still be on his way out of the City Ground with Villa set to join the chase for his signature.
Lansbury has scored six goals in 19 appearances so far this season and has found himself at the centre of intense transfer speculation in recent months.
But it's a bleak start to 2017 for Forest who start the year under a transfer embargo because there has been a delay in submitting audited accounts as the takeover by American John Jay Moores nears completion.

But former Forest man Stan Collymore believes selling such an integral player would be the worst possible decision by the Championship outfit and expressed this sentiment with fans on Twitter.
Birmingham City boss Gianfranco Zola is also interested in Lansbury who was named Sky Bet Championship player of the month for November.
