Middlesbrough transfer news: Aitor Karanka reveals intention to add another winger to his squad before the end of the month
Boro boss aims to boost attacking options and admits there could be departures from the Riverside
AITOR KARANKA has revealed his intention to add another winger to his Middlesbrough squad this month.
The Spaniard also hinted that there could be more than one departure from the Riverside before the transfer window slams shut.
Boro were quick off the mark in wrapping up a deal for striker Rudy Gestede this week, and Karanka is hoping that won’t be the end of his shopping spree.
When quizzed whether he hopes to bring more players in, he said: "I hope.
"We need to improve the attacking positions, and maybe the wings."

Out-of-favour defender Daniel Ayala has this week been linked with a move away from the Riverside to Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Forwards Jordan Rhodes and David Nugent have also been linked with switches to the Championship.
And although Karanka would not comment on individuals, he did admit that departures are likely.
Karanka added: "If the right offer arrives and the player wants to leave, I am here to help anyone who wants to leave.
"To buy players we need to sell. That is the market. If one player wants to leave then I will help them."
Gestede is unlikely to start Sunday’s FA Cup clash with Sheffield Wednesday, but the 28-year-old is expected to be part of the matchday squad.
Another striker also joined Boro this week as 18-year-old Finnish prodigy Mikael Soisalo joined the club from Tampere.
And 19-year-old Argentinian left-back Pedro Silva Torrejon has agreed to join the north east side.
Both men will be part of the club’s Under-23 side for the rest of the season.
