However, the 30-year-old will give Palace boss Sam Allardyce a major boost, as 11 players are ruled out with injuries.

Allardyce said: "Loic is set to return in the squad, which is very nice, hopefully he will stay fit and of course he will be a little bit rusty as it's his first competitive game for a long time but hopefully he'll work well with Frazier Campbell.

"It's going to be a good partnership. He'll play some part of the game, he won't play all of it because it's like pre-season for him.
"It's his first competitive game, we played him behind closed doors in an U23's match, he says he's fit and ready to go, his general fitness is good but his match fitness is lacking. Allrdayce added.

"If he can hit the form and the heights he has hit in the Premier League before, in particular the goals and use of his pace.

"He is very quick, he can hopefully can lift our team and be a big goalscoring threat as well as the other goalscorers we have in the squad."

Palace are without Jason Puncheon, Christian Benteke, Wayne Hennessey, Connor Wickham, Pape Souare, Scott Dann, Zeki Fryers, James McArthur and Steve Mandanda, who are injured while Wilfried Zaha and Bakary Sako have gone to the African Nations Cup.
