PATRICE EVRA has been offered a return to Old Trafford - but only as a coach, according to reports in Italy.
The former club captain had a storied career at Manchester United, winning five Premier League titles, the League Cup three times, the Club World Cup and the Champions League in 2008.
Mourinho is keen on bringing in the 35-year-old, who has found playing time hard to come by this season at Juventus.
But Gazzetta dello Sport report that while Mourinho is keen to bring in the experienced defender, he will only offer Evra a coaching role.
Evra - who is also a target for West Ham - is not sure if he wants to hang up his boots just yet, delaying any decision.
The paper reports that there could be the possibility of a playing role if Evra really pushes for it.
Rio Ferdinand hinted at an Evra return earlier this week, calling out the Frenchman on Instagram.
Left-back has been a problem position for Mourinho all season.
