Arsenal’s stand-in captain Olivier Giroud shouted to his team-mates to ‘show some authority’ at half-time during FA Cup clash with Preston
And the words seemed to have a desired effect as Aaron Ramsey levelled things up two minutes after the restart, then Giroud himself bagged the winner
OLIVIER GIROUD demanded his team "show their authority" in a passionate half-time teamtalk during the Preston game yesterday.
The French striker was named captain for the Gunners' FA Cup third round clash, but was not in a happy mood as his side trailed 1-0 at the break.
Arsenal were sent out early for the second period after boss Arsene Wenger blasted his players for being off the pace and falling behind to Callum Robinson's goal.

And Giroud, shouldering extra responsibility, decided he didn't want an FA Cup shock on his watch.
As the Premier League side made their way out for the second half, Giroud was heard shouting: "Come on lads. Show some authority. Show something else."
The audio was picked up by FA Cup cameras that were stationed in the tunnel before, during and after the game at Deepdale.
And Giroud's words obviously had the desired affect.
