The 25-year-old midfielder will return to Arsenal from his loan stint at Bournemouth with a year left on his current deal, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has urged the England international to show loyalty to the club he joined as a kid and stay long term.

City boss Pep Guardiola has been an admirer of Wilshere after his impressive performance for the Gunners against Barcelona in the Champions League in 2011.

The Daily Star has reported Guardiola has made contact with Arsenal and asked to be kept informed about Wilshere's future plans.
