Chelsea legend John Terry being lined up by Bournemouth for loan move until the end of the season

Chelsea legend has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge, and Eddie Howe may be ready to pounce

BOURNEMOUTH are lining up an audacious loan move for Chelsea skipper John Terry.

The Blues have recalled Nathan Ake from his loan on the south coast, leaving Bournemouth in need of a centre back.

And Eddie Howe has turned to the 36-year-old Chelsea legend, who can't get a game under Antonio Conte.

Terry's contract is due to expire at the end of the season having been playing on one of the infamous one-year deals that Chelsea offer their veterans.

The defender is due to serve a one-game ban after being sent off against Peterborough in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Chelsea appealed the decision, but his suspension for a foul on Lee Angol was upheld.

After the game, he wrote on Instagram: “What a great feeling being back on the pitch today, albeit only for 67 mins after my red card which I will be appealing and hope the FA and the ref will look at it and realise I didn’t touch Lee Angol.”

Terry will now serve a one match ban for their Premier League trip to champions Leicester on January 14 – but the former guaranteed starter now settles for a bit-part role at the Bridge.

The 36-year-old, who signed a one year extension in the summer, had not played since November before the Peterborough match - and has only started five matches all season.
