Swansea transfer news: Martin Olsson deal close after Premier League strugglers have £5million bid accepted by Norwich

Sweden international Olsson looks to be on his way to the South Wales club along with PSV's Luciano Narsingh

SWANSEA look set to net Martin Olsson in a £5million deal from Norwich.

The Canaries have accepted an offer for the 40-cap Sweden international as new Swans boss Paul Clement looks to boost his squad.

Clement's side are destined for a relegation scrap and he has moved to secure the services of the former Blackburn man.

Regular left-back Neil Taylor is set for a spell on the sidelines after requiring an operation on the broken cheekbone he picked up in training on Wednesday morning.

Olsson would be an ideal replacement down the Swans' left flank, with the club also close to clinching the signing of Luciano Narsingh from PSV.

The Dutch international, who has picked up 16 caps, is out of contract at the end of the season.

And he is thought to be close to a move to the Liberty Stadium after Clement made a £4m bid.

Narsingh has scored two goals in 20 appearances for PSV this season, with the club third in the Eredivisie table.

But while Narsingh and Olsson are set to become the first signings of Clement's reign, he has already netted one man off the pitch.

Claude Makelele has agreed to become Swans' assistant until the end of the season.

The former France midfielder, 43, worked under Clement for a year at Chelsea, and then as a coach at Paris Saint-Germain when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge.

Clement was his first league game in charge against Crystal Palace before an FA Cup defeat to Hull, with Arsenal next up in the Prem on Saturday.
