So with him already struggling for game time at Stamford Bridge, he will have hoped to pull out all the stops in training to impress boss Antonio Conte.
Unfortunately, he could not oblige as he could not knock down a stack of energy drinks from a few yards away in ten attempts.
By contrast, his Brazilian opponent Willian managed the feat in just four goes - and the winger was happy to laud it over the embarrassed striker in victory.

In fairness to Batshuayi, he is not the only Chelsea star to fail miserably in this trial.
Nathaniel Chalobah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were left red-faced when they hit the cans just once in a combined 20 attempts at the same game last year.
