Arsenal transfer news: Roma loanee Wojciech Szczesny says Arsene Wenger ‘wants me back’ in north London
Polish stopper has been on loan for 18 months but could make a permanent move to Italian capital
WOJCIECH SZCZESNY has claimed that Arsene Wenger wants him back at Arsenal.
The Polish goalkeeper, 26, has been on loan at Roma for 18 months and speculation is rife that he could join the Serie A club on a permanent deal.
But Speaking to Italian paper , Szczesny said his future has not yet been decided.
And that Arsenal want him back.
He said: "My future?
"I would also like to know where I will be.
"The truth is that it's in the hands of Wenger, the coach and man in whose hands [my career has been] since I was 16."
Szczesny claimed that there are no options for Roma to buy him as part of the loan agreement.
He added: "The decision is up to Wenger.
"I'm happy and satisfied that two clubs are [interested] in my performances - one that wants to [keep me] and the other that wants me to come back."
Szczesny has started every Serie A game for title-chasing Roma this season, keeping seven clean sheets.
Roma have the second best defensive record in the division.
Szczesny has made 65 saves, fourth most in Serie A and more than any other player from a top-half club.
