Dimitri Payet: West Ham have a guard by striking star’s stadium mural to ward off vandals
Two pictures show security guard posted outside the London Stadium where Payet picture sits
WEST HAM have been moved to station a security guard next to a mural of Dimitri Payet - to ward off vandals.
Images emerged on social media of a hi-vis jacketed steward standing in front of a picture of Payet at the London Stadium.
SunSport contacted West Ham and were told the steward has been strategically placed there.
West Ham fans have grown considerably angry over the last week after their star man told manager Slaven Bilic that he no longer wanted to be at the club.
There have been rumours that the mural would be spray-painted.
There has been talk of a more extreme plan to smash a huge replica West Ham shirt with his name and squad number on it that hangs from the ceiling at the ground.
Payet's bust-up with the boss has seen him be axed from training.
Marseille and Chelsea have been linked, while SunSport columnist and West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady CONFIRMED that Payet is likely leaving the East End - even though she doesn't want to sell.
Brady wrote: "With this attitude I suppose that probably sooner rather than later he will be on his way.
"We have already made him our highest-paid player but there has been plenty of evidence recently of his lost motivation.
"We will carry on trying to keep him, of course, but his attitude will affect the whole team unless it changes radically."
