Graham Taylor: Watford to use Middlesbrough clash as stage to pay emotional tribute to club legend
Former England manager has been honoured at Vicarage Road today after a week of touching tributes have poured in from fans
WATFORD will pay tribute to former manager Graham Taylor who died on Thursday aged 72.
The Hornets face Middlesbrough at Vicarage Road where there will be a huge outpouring of emotion to celebrate the life of Taylor who managed the club for 15 years over two spells.
Watford supporters have been laying flowers outside the stadium and in particular the stand named after their former manager, chairman and more recently honorary vice-president.
Taylor's managerial career started at Lincoln City then he moved to Watford, steering the unfashionable Hornets from the fourth tier of English football to runners up behind Liverpool and reaching the 1984 FA Cup final losing to Everton.
Wolves face Aston Villa this afternoon at the Molineux stadium, two clubs Taylor managed in his 30 year managerial career.
A minutes applause will take place before the game and there will be a floral tribute involving past and present representatives from both clubs and the England team.
FA Technical Director Dan Ashworth will also be in attendance at the Molineux to pay his respects to the former England boss.
