Hull midfielder Ryan Mason receives tributes from footballing world after suffering fractured skull

GARETH BALE led tributes to Hull midfielder Ryan Mason who has sustained a fractured skull after a sickening clash of heads with Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.
The Tigers midfielder was rushed St Mary's Hospital and underwentΒ emergency neuro surgery following the incident in the defeat at Stamford Bridge.
Hull confirmed the midfielder had suffered a fractured skull in a statement via their Β but said he is in a stable condition.

The statement read: "The Club can confirm that Ryan Mason sustained a skull fracture in our fixture at Chelsea this afternoon.
"He was taken to St Maryβs Hospital where he has undergone surgery.
"Ryan is in a stable condition and is expected to remain in hospital for the next few days.

"Everyone at the Club would like to express their sincere thanks for the excellent and swift care given to Ryan by both the Accident and Emergency department and Neurosurgery Unit at St Maryβs Hospital.
"A further update will be issued tomorrow."
Following the deeply concerning update past and present footballers have shown their support towards Mason on social media.
With the likes of Gareth Bale and Robbie Fowler making tributes - whilst rugby star Danny Cipriani and boxer Callum Smith also sent their best wishes.
