SOUTHAMPTON have gone back in for Manolo Gabbiadini with Claude Puel looking to add firepower to his front line.
According to reports the player's club, Napoli, have lowered their asking price from an initial £18million to £14.5m and the Saints' interest has been strengthened.
Charlie Austin is out of action until at least April with a shoulder injury and Shane Long has scored twice this term, while Jay Rodriguez has impressed since coming back from injury, netting five times in the league.
