The Serbia star will join the Russian club on a two-and-a-half-year deal where he will earn around £80,000-a-week.

After eight seasons at Stamford Bridge, the two-time Premier League winner is set to agree new terms with Zenit at the weekend.

After becoming a first-team regular following his January 2008 move from Locomotiv Moscow, Ivanovic was reduced to a bit-part man in the first half of this campaign.

The three-time FA Cup winner has started just six Premier League games as Conte looks for more speed down the flanks and sticks to a trusted back-three of Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Nathan Ake is back on the scene after having his Bournemouth loan cancelled, Kurt Zouma is fit again, after a serious knee injury, and John Terry is still waiting in the wings for his chance to return to the side.
