Inter Milan line up £110m Antoine Griezmann offer as they get set to gazump Manchester United in their hot pursuit of the France star

INTER MILAN are ready to rival Manchester United's pursuit of Antoine Griezmann - with a £110million bid for the France star.

According to reports, the newly cash-rich club, who have a 68 per cent holding from Chinese group Suning, are looking to land a world class star in the summer.

And the bad news for former Inter boss Jose Mourinho is that they are ready to swoop Griezmann from under the noses of the Manchester United boss.

Griezmann, 25, has not entertained talk of a move away from Atletico Madrid, but it is understood he would be open to a move in the summer after starring for Diego Simeone at the Vicente Calderon.

And like United - who are aware they may need to break the transfer world record again for their target -  Inter are reportedly prepared to cough-up the £110million release clause in the Frenchman's contract.

According to Italian publication t, Griezmann would only entertain the move if Inter were to qualify for the Champions League, with Atletico agonisingly losing last year's final on penalties.

Griezmann has netted 14 goals for the La Liga club this season and is seen as the missing piece in Mourinho's jigsaw at United, who clearly lack a consistent goal threat at the moment.

Rio Ferdinand has called for United to go for both Griezmann and Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale, but it is understood the Welshman does not want to leave the Spanish capital anytime soon.

Paul Pogba is also being used as bait to get the Griezmann deal over the line with Mourinho knowing the pair are good friends.

If he was hoping to escape the rumours, his brother Theo keeps posting cryptic Manchester United-related tweets on social media, adding fuel to rumours he is on his way to the 13-time Premier League winners.

But as recently as this month, Griezmann has reacted angrily to rumours linking him to United.

He told AS: "I don't like this question. I don't appreciate these type of questions about my future because Cristiano, Messi or Bale aren't asked about what is going to happen next year or where they are going to play."
